Right next to Gullfoss, 10 km from Geysir Center is where the most important highland road in all of Iceland, the Kjölur Route, begins.

100 kilometers after the start of the Kjölur Route you’ll reach the thermal area Hveravellir. Right in the middle of nowhere you can bath in a natural hot tub fed by hot springs.
